Achieva Rehabilitation's standard physical therapy services are covered by Medicare and most insurance plans. That arrangement works well for the vast majority of our patients in Frackville, Pottsville, Shenandoah, Mahanoy City, and surrounding Schuylkill County communities. However, a small number of clients prefer a therapy arrangement that operates entirely outside of their insurance plan. For those patients, we offer Achieva Plus+.
It is important to state this clearly upfront: Achieva Plus+ is a separate, optional program. It is not our default service. It is not the right choice for most patients. If your insurance covers in-home PT, using your benefits is typically the most cost-effective path. Achieva Plus+ exists for a specific group of clients with specific preferences or circumstances that make a private arrangement preferable.
Who Achieva Plus+ Is Designed For
Achieva Plus+ is appropriate in specific situations. Patients who have exhausted their insurance-covered physical therapy visits for the year but wish to continue care may find Achieva Plus+ a useful option. Clients whose insurance plan does not include in-home PT benefits but who want the convenience and quality of home-based care may also benefit from this arrangement. Additionally, some clients simply prefer to manage their healthcare privately, without involving insurance authorization processes, and Achieva Plus+ accommodates that preference. Most importantly, Achieva Plus+ is for older adults who can see how their peers have declined over time and the struggles that keep them from being independent and mobile. These clients do not require what we call medically necessary care. They WANT to train their bodies to prevent decline, stay strong and balanced, so that they can continue to enjoy what moves them deeply. Contrary to how healthcare normally functions (reactive), Achieva Plus+ is Proactive!
What the Program Includes
Patients who enroll in Achieva Plus+ receive the same one-on-one, in-home physical therapy that our insurance-based patients receive. The clinical quality, the qualifications of the therapist, and the structure of care are identical. The difference is strictly in the billing arrangement. Payment is made directly by the patient, visits are not submitted to insurance, and the scheduling process is not subject to prior authorization requirements. This flexibility can be beneficial for patients whose care needs align more with the prior question.
How to Find Out If Achieva Plus+ Is Right for You
If you are interested in learning more about Achieva Plus+, the first step is a conversation. Contact us and we will ask about your situation, your goals, and your insurance status. For most callers, standard insurance-based PT will be the recommended path. For those whose circumstances align with what Achieva Plus+ was designed to address, we will explain the program in detail, including the pricing structure and how scheduling works, before you make any decisions.
A Note on Our Standard Services
The majority of Achieva Rehabilitation's patients access their care through standard insurance benefits. We accept Medicare and most private insurance plans. If you are a Schuylkill County resident seeking in-home physical therapy and you have insurance coverage, that is your starting point. Contact us with your insurance information and we will confirm coverage and schedule your first visit. Achieva Plus+ is available as a separate option for those who need it, but it is not the norm and we want patients to know they are not expected to use it.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Achieva Plus+ and how is it different from standard PT?
Achieva Plus+ is an optional, cash-based physical therapy program offered by Achieva Rehabilitation in Schuylkill County. It is separate from the standard insurance-based services that serve the majority of patients. The clinical quality and one-on-one in-home care are identical to standard services. The difference is in billing: patients in Achieva Plus+ pay directly out of pocket, and visits are not submitted to insurance. This arrangement removes prior authorization requirements and offers greater scheduling flexibility.
Who should consider a cash-based physical therapy program like Achieva Plus+?
Achieva Plus+ is designed for a specific subset of clients. It was built for older adults who have a proactive mindset and want the best functional mobility that they can experience. It may be appropriate for those who have exhausted their annual insurance-covered PT visits but want to continue therapy, patients whose insurance does not include in-home PT benefits, or individuals who prefer to manage their healthcare privately without insurance involvement. For patients whose insurance covers in-home PT, using those benefits is typically the more cost-effective approach and is what Achieva recommends as the starting point.
Is cash-based physical therapy covered by insurance or Medicare?
No. By definition, a cash-based program such as Achieva Plus+ operates outside of insurance billing. Patients pay directly, and claims are not submitted to insurance or Medicare. This is distinct from Achieva Rehabilitation's standard services, which do accept Medicare and most insurance plans. Achieva Plus+ is designed for situations where insurance billing is not the preferred or viable option for the patient.
What are the benefits of a private pay physical therapy program?
Private pay PT programs offer several potential advantages for the right patient. Scheduling is not subject to insurance authorization, which can allow for greater flexibility and faster access. There are no visit limits imposed by an insurance company, which can be valuable for patients with complex or long-term needs. All decisions about frequency, duration, and treatment approach are made entirely between the patient and the therapist without third-party influence.
How do I find out if Achieva Plus+ is right for my situation?
The best first step is a conversation with Achieva Rehabilitation. Contact us and describe your situation, including your current diagnosis, your insurance status, and your goals for therapy. For most patients, standard insurance-based in-home PT in Schuylkill County will be the recommended path. If your circumstances align with what Achieva Plus+ is designed to address, we will explain the program details including pricing and scheduling before you make any decision.
